The rebuilding process in Lower Manhattan resembles this when a basket ball player takes the ball and instead of depositing it inside the metal rim to score, he took the ball and walked crossing the finish line pretending he is scoring touch down as in football and the fans kept shouting Gooooal. Just about everyone in America will be able to tell that was not a basket, touch down or a goal, it is just a fraud. However very few know how to play the architecture game and many applauded the architectural version of this kind of “Goal”. The public assumes that the process is ran competently and enthusiastically cheer the rebuilding process every time they think something was accomplished.
I am a big fan of the game of architecture, while analyzing the rebuilding process, I tried to translate the codes of architecture to the common sense codes, so the game of architecture will be widely understood. I know that what is happening is not applaudable. The rebuilding process sustained quite few irreparable-harms. The only way to rationalize how irreparable-harms were applauded is when the applauders are truly longing for a win, yet don’t understand the game.
In the rebuilding process, Ironically while the fraudulent “goals” were counted as real goals there were 2 true architectural “goals” that were dismissed as losers. Those two goals were the work of Foster and Viñoly.
This chapter details the second round of the designs in the rebuilding process. The details of the failure changed a little from the 1stRound, the malignancy of the failure still the same. It also details the bogus goals and the real goals.
